Part-Time Finance Manager (3 day week) | Independent Digital Marketing Agency

Harmonic Finance are proud to be working on a retained basis for one of the UK's most respected boutique marketing agencies. To support the co-owners following recent MBO activity, the business requires a Finance Manager (PQ and QBE applicants welcome).

The requirement currently is for 3 days a week. Interviews to be covered via Zoom with duties to be carried out remotely from home until further notice.

Small, but profitable, the agency presently has a full-time headcount of 13, plus freelance ad-hoc support. They are located in fantastic converted mid-century building furnished with beautiful Scandinavian-style furniture a short walk from Old Street station which they share with a film production business.

Their unique selling points are twofold: they 'get' the luxury space like few other agencies, and have an enviable client list. Secondly- and unusually for a company of their size- they also provide marketing insight analysis and visualization solutions to their clients. Often on a recurring monthly retainer basis.

    The role

Although you will have access to ad-hoc support from a CFO (est 1-3 days per month) and an accountancy practice, this role requires a real 'all rounder' who isn't afraid to balance some more complex duties with (low-volume) transactional duties. Your role will cover:

    * Production of the P&L and Management Accounts
    * Working with the Creative team and Account Directors to support with pricing strategies for project bids.

    * Update of the Weekly Cash Flow forecast and comparison of actuals to prior forecasts
    * Management of the quarterly reforecast process, including working with Account Directors to understand the timing of client spend
    * Responsibility for the Accounts Payable function, including preparation of fortnightly payment runs & reconciliation of media accounts
    * Management of the Accounts Receivable process; running the monthly invoicing cycle & working with client managers to monitor credit control and client credit insurance limits
    * Preparation and submission of Quarterly VAT returns
    * Responsibility for all aspects of company Payroll (via Moneysoft Program)
    * Liaising with an external accounting practice to prepare the annual statutory return

Please note that the exec team view the role as an evolving one: if there is a business case for outsourcing some of these duties mid-term, or for hiring more colleagues, then they are open to discussing this. You will need to be prepared to cover all bases at the outset however- it's an 'all hands on deck' culture.

    Qualifications

While there is a preference to recruit a qualified candidate, applications are also welcome from PQ or QBE candidates.

    Career prospects

The company have a culture of 'promoting from within'. The exec team subsequently view this role as an audition to become the future Finance Director of the business given strong professional performance.

    Interview dates:

    Week beginning 18th May.

    Salary: 50-55k pro rata
