    The Client

    We are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative, hyper growth Electric Vehicle (EV) scale-up business looking to revolutionise the way in which freight is transported by implementing their unique battery powered platform on an international scale.

    This is an opportunity to work for an incredibly well funded business with impressive founders that foster a hugely entrepreneurial environment. The growth plans are extremely impressive, and the business expects to be bringing in a significant amount of funding over the next few years.

    Now they are looking to hire a Financial Controller to run the day-to-day finances of the business, build their finance function, and support their continued expansion. The company offers a fast-paced environment, full of motivated and passionate people - if you are an over-achieving, ambitious Financial Controller with experience working in a rapidly scaling environment this is for you.

    The Role

    Reporting to the CFO the Financial Controller will be responsible for the end-to-end operational finance function, covering all aspects of financial control. The company is scaling rapidly so they are currently operating a lean team which means this role will be very hands on including month end processes, production of the monthly management accounts, and working on several high-level projects to help the business transition into a best-in-class finance function.

    This will need someone willing to dive into the detail and lead the financial control of 3 international entities across Europe. The financial controller will play a lead role in presenting key financial metrics to senior stakeholders and being a key voice in the room on some massive projects.


    * Management of the monthly close process and the production of the monthly management accounts.
    * Presenting key financial metrics to senior stakeholders.
    * Oversight of Tax, Payroll and Bookkeeping.
    * Preparation of board and investor decks/presentations.
    * Lead an IFRS conversion ahead of a double audit.
    * Working with the CFO to improve financial controls and processes of the business as they scale towards and exit.
    * Improve and streamline the month-end process.
    * Setting up of new entities internationally (8-10 new jurisdictions by the end of 2022 including the US).
    * Manage the outsourced accounting team and lead the in-housing process for finance as the business continues to scale.
    * ERP implementation to drive best practice and get the business up to speed with its rapidly scaling structure.
    * Ad-hoc projects working closely with the leadership team.
    * Building a team as the business scales.

    What we need to see (essential):

    * ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 2+ years PQE.
    * Smart, independent individual that is ambitious and keen to learn quickly.
    * Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    * Proven ability to perform under pressure.
    * Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS.
    * Experience working with a listed company, either through an audit in practice or internally as an employee.
    * Strong people management and leadership skills.
    * Ambitious and passionate about being part of a start-up/scale-up.

    What we'd like to see (bonus):

    * Experience in the Automotive/Manufacturing sector dealing with supply chain issues etc. beneficial.
    * Experience working in a rapidly scaling environment.
    * Experience in an R&D environment.

    Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + equity
