Senior Operations Manager | Rapidly Scaling Fintech Start-Up | London/Remote

We are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a brand new, fintech business focused on delivering low cost and fair financial products in a flexible way. Having raised nearly £25 million from leading VC funds, the business is now looking for a high calibre Senior Operations Manager to take on a sole operations role ahead of their launch later this year.

The company has an experienced founding team who raised over twelve million in funding for their previous business, and they have an aggressive fundraising strategy that will lead to rapid growth and in both revenues and headcount.

The team is still currently small as they are still pre-launch however, they are hiring fast in anticipation of a fast uptake. The culture is collaborative, trusting and the leadership team genuinely hire people with a view to progressing them quickly.

They have a modern office space next to King's Cross station and are going into the office 3 days / week (Tue, Wed, Thu) to promote collaboration and to continue to build their small business culture.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for all things operations - managing the end to end operations function with a customer facing slant. This will include ad hoc activities associated with working in a dynamic, fast paced start-up.

The most important criteria are a smart, dynamic person with a strong focusing on process creation / mapping that has the drive and tenacity to thrive in a stand-alone operations role in a rapidly scaling start-up.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily customer Identifying and designing all internal processes for the business.
  • DuDocumentation Documentation of all internal business processes.
  • worijwokrrking closely with the proWorking closely with the product team, identify and develop requirements for automation.
  • Main point of Main point of contact for all inbound customer requests.
  • TRpubleshootiungs Troubleshooting customer problems and complaints.
  • Building a Building from scratch and developing a business continuity plan.
  • Building Building a core understanding of risk.
  • Lead and Develop and lead on the crisis management process.
  • Manage and continue to build out the existing operations function with additional hires and continuous training and development.
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting to the CEO.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in Operational Risk Management.

  • Strong experience in process identification, creation and mapping.

  • Experience working in a start-up environment, helping to build an operations function from the ground up.

  • Proactive, driven individual with strong problem solving ability.

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

  • Strong excel skills with the ability to manipulate and handle large data sets.

  • Business acumen, self-motivation and an eye for commercial opportunity.

  • Leadership ability.

  • Ability to work fast and under pressure.

    Bonus Experience

  • Experience of working for a fast growth start-up.

  • Experience working in a customer facing role, handling complaints etc.

  • Experience of working within a regulatory environment.

Salary

  • £60,000 - £80,000 + 10% bonus + options
