Senior Accountant | Fast Growth BioTech Company

The Client:

The role:

This role will be an integral part of the finance team and will work closely with the Controller and Senior Director of Finance. The Senior Accountant will play an essential part in the month-end close, will help implement new accounting policies and procedures. There will be additional opportunities to get involved in ad-hoc finance projects that will help to form the future of the company. Given the rapid growth and pace of change, this role needs someone with an eye for process improvement and real willingness to get stuck into the detail.

Responsibilities:

• Manage monthly and quarterly and annual close and ensure compliance with US GAAP

• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

• Assist with the management of the Accounts Payable processes

• Implement and review new accounting processes where necessary

• Assist in maintaining the general ledger

• Assist with upcoming implementation of NetSuite

• Production of management accounts and account analysis

• Support with quarterly reviews and annual audit process

• Assist with implementation of Sarbanes and Oxley Internal Controls

• Streamline current processes for maximum efficiencies in the accounting process

• Ad hoc project support to both Finance and Accounting functions

  What we need to see (Essential):

• A Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field)

• 2+ years of accounting experience

• Experience with GAAP financial reporting

• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy

• Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue to learn

• Excited about working somewhere which is changing every day

• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to help make strategic decisions

  What we would like to see (Bonus):

• CPA license

• Previous experience in Big 4 public accounting

• Experience in a fast growth scale up or start-up

• Experience in a fast-paced environment

• Experience in Biotech/Tech industry

• Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, and Payroll experience are a plus

• Experience with NetSuite

  Location: Needham, MA (Hybrid)

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus + Equity
