Portfolio Finance Director | Revolutionary HealthTech SaaS Start-up | 6-Month

Harmonic are delighted to be working with an innovative and fast-growing HealthTech SaaS company who are revolutionising healthcare with their advanced software which is already in use by the majority of hospitals in the UK. They are looking for a Portfolio Finance Director, 1-2 days per week, on a 6-Month contract with the option to work fully remote.

The Client

Our client's software brings SAAS into the HealthTech arena and makes it accessible for all in the medical profession. Founded in 2006, the company have built up a national reputation for successfully delivering ground-breaking digital health to Public, Private, and international hospitals. They were also a key part of the UK's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, this has led to an unprecedented period of growth for them over the last 2 years, with an excellent sales pipeline for the coming years.

Despite having operated for over 15 years, our client has an immense desire for future growth and expansion, much like that of a Start-Up. Turning over circa $20 million last year with a YOY growth rate of 50%, sales are forecast to further increase in the next 12 months.

The Role

With a lean but well-performing finance team made up from a Head of Finance and Finance Assistant who manage all the day-to-day finances, this role is the strategic number 1 with high levels of autonomy and impact. The role is responsible for:

  • Shaping strategic planning including forming cashflow forecasts and budgets
  • Developing and maintaining financial models and business cases to inform key strategic decisions such as acquisitions, pricing, and new market entry
  • Drive operational and financial efficiencies across the business to maximise profitability
  • Governing effectively by monitoring investments and appraising their value
  • Supporting the CEO on ad-hoc projects
  • Assisting entry into new markets using knowledge of tax implications and ensuring the finance function is scalable and future-proof
  • Helping to mentor and develop more junior members of the finance team
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the board who is willing to advise and influence but also challenge on key board level matters.

Essential Skills

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified
  • Strong Modelling and Technical accounting skills
  • Self-starter. Eager to learn, and highly collaborative
  • Open to ambiguity and a willingness to 'roll up your sleeves'
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for SAAS or the tech sector

Preferable Skills

  • 3 years' experience within a SAAS or technology business

Day Rate £600-£800/day (Outside IR35)

Location Remote (HQ in Leeds, Office in London)
