Interim Finance Director | Iconic Multisite Retail Business | London

Harmonic Finance are proud to be recruiting on an exclusive basis for an iconic multisite retail business who are in the market for an Interim Finance Director for an immediate start 9 month contract (FTC / Fixed Term Contract).

Our client, who are a well-established multisite chain, are looking to restructure their finance function and are looking for a Finance Director with experience in transformation and streamlining to lead an exciting period of change and development. With over 60 sites and franchise deals, the ideal candidate will have strong strategic and commercial finance experience as well as a robust handling of finance controls and monthly reporting.

Working alongside seasoned private investors and the founders of the business you will have end-to-end responsibly of the finance function, in a business which is turning over c.£30m and looking to expand and grow.

The role:

Over recent years they have implemented a new payroll system and upgraded their EPOS/CRM systems to state of the art packages. They are now looking forward to re-shaping their finance team through this hire.

Duties and objectives:

· Recruit and develop a high-performance financial department.

· Accounting supervision and review of the financial statements (Balance and Profit and Loss Account, Memoirs) as well as the accounting of various companies that make up the group.

· Supervision of compliance with the company's fiscal and legal obligations.

· Annual budget management, review and monitoring through forecasting and internal reporting.

· Overseeing financial planning of the projects (profitability analysis, margins etc).

· Treasury Management: Control of balances, planning of movements between accounts, preparation of periodic reports, control of movements, cash flows etc).

· Negotiation and relationship with banks.

· Preparation of all types of economic-financial reports to support the decision-making of the Management Committee and reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual), seeing its consistency with accounting and management reports.

· Providing strategic advice to the group board (advice on investments, internal audits, strategy, etc.).

· Definition of activity monitoring indicators and control of their application.

· Review of internal control and compliance with Group rules and procedures.

· Proposal of internal control improvements according to group policies.

· Develop cost optimization processes.

What we need to see (essential):

· ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.

· Good technical proficiency with Excel.

· A genuine passion for business transformation and development

· Willingness to be 'hands-on' across the finance function at the outset, but having the aptitude to build and scale a team in the mid-term.

· Some experience with Sage

· A good balance in skillset between commercial and technical accounting.

· A willingness to engage proactively in creating a positive working culture for the business: with the potential of new colleagues joining in 2022 you will be key in setting the tone.

What we'd like to see (non-essential):

· Retail / real estate / multisite experience would be advantageous or any work with leasing agreements / franchise models

· Commercial finance experience would be looked upon favourably

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 + completion bonus. Salary is pro-rata down to 9 months
