Finance Manager| Post Series-A Medical Devices Company | London/Hybrid

Harmonic are proud to be working with a disruptive post series-A medical technology company in their search for their first Finance Manager. Our client is developing disruptive technology to support skeletal and joint issues in patients. Their mission is to develop more effective medical implants and replacements that are longer lasting and allow patients a far greater quality of life.

Following a recent £8million Series A fundraise from a renowned private equity backer, our client is looking for an ambitious Finance Manager to own all elements of technical finance. Reporting into an experienced CFO, the successful candidate will benefit from direct mentorship and assist on preparing the company's financials for future fundraises. Ultimately, this role will look to become a Head of Finance as you look to build out a team below you.

The business is formed of a small, ambitious group of multi-disciplinary experts, genuinely seeking to improve the lives of the patients they create their devices for. This is reflected by their collaborative, kind company culture and passion for growth. Finally, the right candidate will be someone keen to integrate in a social business, and get involved in their company lunches, barbeques, and social events.

The Role:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for all elements of day-to-day finance, overseeing the month end and audit processes, managing the finance assistant, and supporting the CFO on commercial finance. Ultimately, there is always room to grow so more duties and projects can be made available to someone demonstrating exceptional calibre and determination to progress. Whilst it is imperative the right candidate has strong technical finance skills; we are also looking for someone with a commercial mind to partner with production and sales teams and to assist on strategic growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for all aspects of all technical accounting.
  • Ownership of month end processes and annual audit.
  • Production of monthly management accounts.
  • Partnering with wider business such as sales and production departments.
  • Assist in development of FP&A function.
  • Produce accurate accounts for future fundraises.
  • Assist in the implementation of Netsuite system.
  • Direct line management of a junior transactional finance assistant.
  • Assist the CFO on various projects and tasks.

What our client would like to see (Requirements):

  • Previous experience within a product-based start-up.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Practical IFRS knowledge.
  • Strong commercial finance knowledge.
  • Ambitious and 'understands' the 'chaos' that life in a start-up involves!

What we'd like to see (Bonus skills):

  • Experience in medical devices or medical technology industry.
  • Experience using Netsuite.
  • Management experience over 1 direct report.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + discretionary bonus

Location: London (hybrid)
