Finance Manager (part time) | Plant based food business | Cambridge / Flexible working

Harmonic are proud to have been retained by a premium FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) brand on the hire of a Finance Manager to join their team.

Working alongside a seasoned founder you will form part of a senior management team for a brand who are looking to cement their status as a leading brand within their space. With listings in household names such as Waitrose and Ocado, this brand not only has a strong UK presence but due to the quality of their products also boasts an impressive international clientele will listings across Europe.

In terms of culture and values our client are an established B Corp so have pledged to match profitability with sustainability and when it comes to their products, they have the same ethos. They put people first working alongside raw ingredients suppliers globally to ensure that farmers and suppliers are numerated fairly and that the raw materials can be produced for years to come.

This position benefits from having a good level of flexibility with a mix of work from home as well as within their offices.

The Role:

Reporting to the founder of the business, this role will have full autonomy over the finance function. Whilst there are established processes in place with the business being an SME and very dynamic, the founder is looking for candidates who can bring new ideas to support with efficiency as they grow. We are also a hire would you be interested in shaping and moulding the finance function as the business goes through a period of growth and change.

Key responsibilities

  • End to end management of the finance function including management of the month end reports and management information reports
  • Completing reports to show where the business is in correlation to 'budget vs actual spends' and completing variance analysis
  • Support the founder with the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Management of the bookkeeping. The business will look to hire a finance assistant or use an outsourced bookkeeper depending on preference
  • Business partnering with operations and supply chain to compile reports
  • Payroll and approvals for payments
  • Ownership of the year end audit
  • Main point of contact for VAT / Tax queries
  • Management of best practice in growing out different areas of finance and supporting with systems and process improvements

What our client would like to see:

  • Confident communicator, a good handle on commercial finance as well as reporting
  • Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - would also consider QBE (qualified by experience) or finalist

What we would like to see:

  • Experience within FMCG, Manufacturing, Retail or Consumer Goods would be beneficial

Salary Expectations:

£40-50k pro rata (based on 4 days per week) + benefits
