Job description

Finance Manager | Award Winning Office Agency | London

Harmonic is proud to announce that we have been retained by one of London's most exciting B Corp property start-ups that have harnessed a cutting-edge coworking office experience creating incredibly unique workspaces which make teams happier, more valued, motivated, and connected.

Founded in 2018 the company has seen incredibly high levels of growth which they are forecasting to replicate (circa 100% growth!). Their growth is on track to see a continued doubling of revenue in 2022 and be as high as £30m within 3 years. The company is now looking for a Finance Manager to assist them through its next stage of growth.

The client's office is currently based within a new co-working space in London, which is values-driven. This is reflected in their collaborative, dynamic, and progressive company culture and beyond the welcoming atmosphere, the role offers many other benefits.

The ideal candidate would be an ambitious individual who is looking to progress quickly in their career and work with liked minded, dynamic individuals.

The role:

The Finance Manager will report directly to the Financial Controller and ultimately take ownership of the day-to-day finance function. The successful candidate will be directly managing a team of 2, and crucially lead the business in streamlining and managing the month-end and management of the accounts.

You will need to be hands-on in your approach and have a clear roll your sleeves up attitude as you will have a broad remit. The Finance Manager will work closely with the CEO on several high-level projects while remaining in the detail of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the preparation of the monthly management accounts, preparing partner reports and board reports.
  • Ownership of the month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure the weekly and monthly cash flows are regulated and updated and provide accurate representations of the expected future cash flows.
  • Oversee the transactional finance function, ensuring all ledgers are tidy: debts are regularly chased, key suppliers are paid on time, banks are reconciled, and all purchase invoices are accurate.
  • Identify existing and potential future inefficiencies and propose a solution so the team can continue to produce accurate information on a timely basis.
  • Work with the Finance Controller on financial planning and analysis, creating efficient and streamlined KPI analytics.
  • You'll also manage the Finance assistant and apprentice on a day-to-day basis - acting as their go-to for support, guidance, and training.

What we need to see (Essential):

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • 1+ years post qualified experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent Communicator.
  • Eye for process improvement.
  • Strong technical ability.
  • Ambitious and 'understands' the 'chaos' that life in a start-up involves.
  • Willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into the detail.

What we would like to see:

  • Start-up or SME experience.
  • Multi-Site or Multi-Project experience.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus
