Finance Director | Green B2B Lending Start-Up | London/Remote

We are delighted to be working on a retained basis with a brand new, sustainable B2B lending start-up focused on offering fair financial products to businesses based on a number of sustainability criteria.

Having raised over £1.5m the business is now looking for an impressive Finance Director to support their upcoming funding rounds as well as help to build their credit lines.

Led by an impressive founding team with brilliantly entrepreneurial minds, the business has an aggressive fundraising strategy that will lead to rapid growth in both revenues and headcount.

The company is based in slick offices in the city but operate a modern hybrid working model. They are looking for the best and brightest to help take their company to the next level.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for all things finance - managing the operational and commercial sides of finance as well as helping the founders to build their credit lines for higher value loans.

The most important criteria are a smart, dynamic finance professional with a strong background in debt or lending finance that has the drive and tenacity to thrive in a stand-alone finance role in a rapidly scaling start-up.

Responsibilities

  • Running end to end finance including financial reporting, regulatory reporting, cash management, financial systems, FP&A and MI.
  • Building financial models (lending specific) to support forecasting and fundraising activities.
  • Working with the CEO and Head of Sustainability on numerous ad-hoc projects and fundraising.
  • Working with the CEO to help raise funding and additional credit lines.
  • Ad-hoc finance and operational related activities.

Essential Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 5+ years post qualification experience in either a debt or lending role / business.

  • Experience of working within a regulated environment.

  • Strong financial modelling skills with the ability to manipulate and handle large data sets.

  • Business acumen, self-motivation and an eye for commercial opportunity.

  • Fundraising experience and have previously raised a line of credit.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work fast under pressure.

    Bonus Experience

  • Experience of working for a fast growth cleantech or fintech environment.

  • Experience and understanding of sustainability focussed investments.

Salary

  • £90,000 - £110,000 + generous equity
