Chief Financial Officer | Leading E-Commerce Retail Brand | Cornwall

Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with one of the UK's fastest-growing e-commerce, retailers in their search for a commercially astute and ambitious Chief Financial Officer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-focused, entrepreneurial business.

Backed by one of the UK's most successful private equity funds and with a turnover of over £9 million, Our client is looking for a CFO to work directly alongside the CEO to assist the company in reaching their goals of £30 million turnover within the next 2 years. Alongside their impressive growth trajectory, the business has a fantastic company culture with a strong set of values at its core.

Having gained significant recognition for their high quality, innovative and sustainable products, the business is committed to this rapid growth with a focus on the long-term. There is a huge focus on collaboration and communication which has resulted in a very positive working environment, and beautiful company offices used as a studio space for creatives and designers alongside other head office members.

In this position, you will be driving the operational and financial success of the organisation. Working closely with the Founders and Senior Directors, you will have a huge impact on how this business is led, managing a growing team with scope for growth. This role can be hybrid based, with considerations of further flexibility for candidates further afield.

Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for all elements of finance.
  • Business partner with the founders and key members of senior leadership, notably across supply chain and operational functions to discuss procurement, logistics and rate negotiation.
  • Identify development opportunities and own the analysis of omnichannel revenue streams.
  • Produce budgets, forecasts, and financial models for the board of directors.
  • Optimise the transactional finance processes.
  • Work closely with the technology and IT teams to ensure strong performance across sectors.
  • Lead the implementation of various new ERP systems across finance and wider operations.
  • Building relationships cross-functionally to monitor and constantly strive to improve operational efficiency company-wide.
  • Mentor junior reports and directly contribute to their growth.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Previous experience working in an omnichannel retail business (or similar)
  • Strong understanding of stock accounting and supply chains
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commercially astute

Bonus skills:

  • Previous experience as Number 1 in Finance.
  • Previous experience working successfully in a venture capital or private equity backed business
  • Previous experience working in a fast growth e-commerce/retail brand.

Salary: £130,000 - £160,000 + benefits

Start date: ASAP
