Chief Finance Officer / Chief Operating Officer| Ecommerce | Essex

Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working on a retained basis with a global pioneer in the consumer leisure ecommerce space in their search for a strategic and commercially astute CFO / COO to lead their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and dynamic business in a role which will very much 'sit on the shoulder' of the Manging Director.

With a tight-knit team of 35 people, this is a profitable and globally recognised company with a turnover of £15M (with a corresponding fantastic Ebitda) and growing. The business retails their products direct to consumer via their own website and also wholesale via major global blue-chip retailers. Having gained global recognition for their high quality, innovative and sustainable products, the business is looking to build on this success.

There is a huge focus on collaboration and communication which has resulted in a very positive working environment where decisions are made with long-term horizons. The company office space has been strategically located in an idyllic location to align with the company's culture, values and lifestyle.

In this position, you will be driving the operational and financial success of the company. Working closely with the MD and managing a growing team, you will have a huge impact on the way the company is led.

The role is based in Essex with a hybrid working approach (2 days minimum from office)

Requirements:

  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified
  • 5 years' experience in a financial leadership role at Finance Director or CFO level
  • Recent experience in a product-based business, ideally with a strong ecommerce element.
  • Experience of working with cross functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • A real passion for FP&A and the ability to apply a real 'commercial lens' to assess model to support the execution and achievement of the company's growth strategy
  • Good understanding of the macro-economic environment, and corresponding ability to influence company strategy accordingly.
  • Strong understanding of statutory / compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven success of building high-performing diverse and inclusive teams.
  • Track record of delivering transformational change to business processes and/or technologies.
  • Strong track record of achievements in environments that are changing their industries through disruptive innovation strategies.

Bonus skills:

  • Relevant product knowledge or industry experience
  • Experience of reviewing IT systems
  • Broad range of management experience in other areas - HR, Systems, Facilities

Renumeration

Basic Salary: £110,000 - £140,000

Bonus & Benefits: Performance Bonus & Flexible benefits package
